The flight to Kunming from Dali only took about 35 minutes. Ms Liu was waiting for us there and after a breakfast at the airport's KFC outlet - we headed for the Western Mountain for a tour as specified in our itinerary. The Western Mountain gave the option of a chairlift to the top for a bird-eye view of the city and the lake next to it. One can trek down from the top and along the way visit some Buddhist temple of some historical significance. All of us felt that we had had an 'overdose' of temples and history and decided to just go for the chair-lift.
